Terms of service

Paste Guru stores a piece of text and gives you a link to it. It has been doing that, on and off, since 2011; the machine under it has changed more than once, and nothing pasted before the last move survived.

By pasting you agree that:

• Public pastes are listed on the recent page, where anybody can read them; they are marked for search engines to skip, which is not at all the same as hidden. Unlisted pastes are listed nowhere, but anybody with the link can read one: the id is the only secret, and it travels through every browser history, proxy and chat log the link passes through.
• A paste is kept until it expires. A paste with no expiry is kept as long as the site runs. The edit token you are given at creation is the only way to take one down, and taking it down stops it being served rather than removing it from the log it arrived in.
• You must hold the rights to whatever you paste. No credentials, no dumps of other people's data, no malware, no personal information about anybody but yourself, nothing unlawful.
• The API is free within the published limits. Scraping the recent list or walking the id space is not, and clients that do it are blocked.

No warranty, no uptime promise, and no guarantee that a paste survives a disk failure. Keep your own copy of anything that matters.
